Heritage Hospice, Inc. provides care and support for individuals and their families in the last stages of an incurable illness.  Services however, do not end with the death of the patient.   For up to 18 months following the death, specially trained Hospice bereavement staff and volunteers are available to provide assistance to family members dealing with grief and bereavement.

Heritage Hospice, Inc. offers free bereavement educational groups. The Beginning Pathways group held meets for six Mondays in a row and is held at the Heritage Hospice, Inc. office.  The group lasts about 1 1/2 hours in length and uses grief educational material to explore:
*grief and loss   *life beyond loss  *grief and the family
*facing emotions of grief *life without the person *picking up the pieces
*healthy coping   *other topics as needed by those attending
Informative materials and refreshments are provided.

PATHWAYS, the ongoing monthly meeting, is designed to allow those attending to address the issues or problems they are facing at that time with the help of others like themselves and a trained counseling professional from the Heritage Hospice Department of Counseling Services. This group also offers educational information on coping with loss and topics are modified to meet the needs of those attending.

The monthly PATHWAYS meeting is on the following dates for 2008:
Apr. 24 at 6:30 p.m.
May 22 at 6:30 p.m.
June 26 at 6:30 p.m.
July 24 at 6:30 p.m.
Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m.
Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m.
Oct. 23 at 6:30 p.m.
The meetings are adjusted during the holiday season to the following schedule:
Nov. 20 at 6:30 p.m.
Dec. 18 at 6:30 p.m.
