Heritage Hospice, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Matt Baker as Executive Director of the agency. With 24 years of dedicated service to Heritage Hospice, Inc., Baker brings a deep institutional knowledge, steady leadership, and a genuine heart for hospice and palliative care to the role.
Baker will be responsible for overseeing the agency’s strategic direction, strengthening community partnerships, and leading Heritage Hospice, Inc.’s talented staff as they continue to provide compassionate care to patients and families experiencing a life-limiting illness in Boyle, Garrard, Lincoln, and Mercer counties—Heritage Hospice, Inc.’s long-standing mission.
“I am so honored, humbled, and appreciative of this opportunity,” Baker said. “I look forward to collaborating with our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and community partners to expand our impact in the central Kentucky communities we serve.”
Heritage Hospice, Inc. Board Chair, Mike Denney also spoke of the board’s confidence in Baker’s appointment to the role of Executive Director. “The Board of Directors knew we had a difficult task on hand when our long-time and much-loved Executive Director, Janelle Rogers, retired,” Denney said. After a long and arduous process Baker was identified by the Board of Directors as the candidate best suited for the role. “Matt Baker was unanimously elected as the new Executive Director of Heritage Hospice, Inc. at the board’s January meeting. Matt has a long history with Heritage Hospice, Inc. and I look forward to a long and successful tenure as he leads the organization,” Denney stated.
“Working for Heritage Hospice, Inc. is more than just a profession, it is also personal,” Baker, a Danville native and graduate of both the University of Kentucky and Boyle County High School said. “I was raised in this community and made a conscious decision to remain here to raise my own family as well. Our mission aligns with my personal beliefs to provide compassionate care and make a difference for patients and their families every day. I see this position as Executive Director as both an opportunity to lead a dynamic staff of qualified professionals and a way to give back to the community that molded me.”
