Heritage Hospice, Inc. Response to COVID-19

A Message from Executive Director, Janelle Wheeler

To Our Patients, Families, Caregivers, Providers, Collaborative Partners and Community:

We are incredibly grateful to serve you. As we navigate the changes around us, our priority is to provide the best care possible. Rest assured we are taking the situation surrounding the coronavirus very seriously. We are actively monitoring the latest information available and have implemented additional prevention and treatment protocols as advised by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and local health department and officials. We encourage you to visit the websites of these credible sources for the most up to date and accurate information.

Caring for our patients remains very important to us. As we navigate the changes around us, our priority is to provide the best care possible as safely as possible. Our staff is highly trained in infection control practices and follow best practices in the delivery of care to prevent spread of any type of illness.

We are here to serve anyone living in Boyle, Garrard, Lincoln, or Mercer Counties that meet eligibility requirements. If you are experiencing a life-limiting illness or are caring for someone who is, please contact us to see how me may help. We do not want anyone to experience this journey alone, especially during this challenging time.

Please call 859-236-2425 for more information about how Heritage Hospice may care for you or someone you care about.

Take Steps to Protect Yourself

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after you have been in a public place or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • STAY AT HOME as much as possible.
  • Social distance – at least 6 feet apart.
  • Wear a cloth face cover when you have to go out in public (to the grocery store or to pick up other necessities).
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily.
  • If surfaces are dirty, clean them.
